Fill a PDF form. Turn blank fields into finished work.

Filling a form should not require Acrobat.

An interactive PDF form carries its fields inside the file: names, types, permitted values, maximum lengths, required flags. A viewer that ignores all that leaves you typing into a picture of a form. Here the real fields are rendered as real controls, and their rules are honoured, so a read-only field cannot be edited by accident and a field with a maximum length stops you at it.

Field names in real forms are usually machine generated, along the lines of topmostSubform[0].Page1[0].f1_07[0]. Where the form provides a human description, that is used as the field’s accessible name and its hover tooltip instead, so a screen reader announces something meaningful and you can tell what a cramped box is asking for.

Once filled, the document is still a form: the fields remain interactive in the exported PDF, so a recipient can correct an entry. If it should be final instead, flatten the export and the answers become part of the page.
